Alert! Alert!

Betsey Johnson, which is going out of business (mostly), has SLASHED their prices--both in stores and online! I'm picking up an adorbs green snake print miniskirt and some cute lil' black hose.

HOW CUTE IS THIS?!

Be ye warned, the website is really wonky. I had to call them directly to place the order, then their software at the customer call center is also wonky, and I ended up going online after all, It took me awhile finally to get the order through but it was worth it because it's BETSEY MOTHERFUCKING JOHNSON.

That is all.

Very fun

So amid all this angst and turmoil I give you this, courtesy of my friend Xinher:

The link is to a virtual doggie, whom you can command. You can tell him to sit, roll over, etc.

It will bring a smile to your face!

Check out The Famous Disapproving Rabbits. Their owner says: I have pet rabbits and I love them. I try to talk to them about birds and various other topics but they frequently disapprove. They are cute, yet set in their ways.

Meet Latte.

I'm Latte, and I disapprove of this message.

Make sure you go to the second page of the site and scroll down to the bottom picture. Giggles for days!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] xinher I have been giggling madly for the past hour at these adorable little creatures, all from Cute Overload:

Dude, What?

Why did you turn on the light? Just—

Look. I cannot deal with you right now. Look—I'm going back to sleep.

If you're not gonna turn the light off, I'm gonna go get something to eat. I'm just gonna chill by the bowl.

Man.

I wonder how my MySpace is doing.

I gotta update that mofo. I've got friends on it and everything. Like 83 friends, man. It's awesome.

Yeah.

Here's another:

My makeup is all ruined now but it's worth it.

It's been an exhausting, busybusybusy week, and a little depressing. But I had a lovely awakening this morning when I realized Tibby was perched on my chest, purring up a storm, and then gently kissed me with his sweet kitten mouth when I opened my eyes.

My heart burst with the cuteness.

So I got to spend lots of quality time with my new little one (and my horrible big kitty, Tatiana, who is also still my baby, as she reminds me firmly). Tiberius is getting very comfortable in the apartment, and REALLY loves the bedroom. He adores hiding under the bureau and behind the door, notwithstanding Tatiana's hisses when she sees him. The absolute cutest thing is when he spies that other strange cat in the mirror, that one that has stripes and big agate-colored eyes--he attacks it (bumping his little furry head against the glass) or does Halloween Kitty, all hump-backed and fluffed-up fur and that sideways hopping walk toward the mirror. I just cannot BEAR it, I will die from terminal cuteness. They're going to find me stretched out on my floor, and New York 1 will do a public health alert about the importance of getting your cuteness immunity shots updated.

He is bonding nicely with me, and does making-bread on my tummy in the mornings and when I get home (all drunk on purring). You don't know cute until a kitten makes bread on your tummy, purringpurringpurring the whole time. Rrrrrrrrr........ He was also waiting for me on my bedroom floor this morning when I got up, all bright eyed ("Good morning, Mommy! Can I make you some coffee?"), even though he KNOWS that's Tatia's turf. He doesn't seem to fear her--he respects her hissing and doesn't come closer, but he doesn't get defensive or upset. But he's all boy and just as often he gets all fewocious and wants to attack my hand, which is a very boy-cat thing to do (T.C. did this all the time, whereas Tatia never does). I'll try to give him kisses and he's all "Ma! I don't want yucky kisses, I wanna play guns!" Then he'll wrap his widdle kitten paws around my wrist and kickkickkick with his bunny feet and be all Alligator Mouth. Because he is Fewocious.

Tatiana, of course, is unhappy, and spends most of her time in the loft. It hurts me to see her so upset. I've been giving her extra head skritches and tummy rubs (when she'll let me--she hisses at me when she smells Tibby on my hands). I adore her and really want her to feel happier soon; soon she'll realize she's the alpha cat in the apartment and she needs to teach his little brother what's up.

*Hail Emperor Tiberius! We who are about to die from cuteness salute you!

Doug and I went up to Inwood last night to pick up Tiberius and bring him back. He was unhappy at being stuck in a mostly dark box, with roaring scary noises from outside, and mewled a lot of tiny kitten meows. Doug was holding the box and hissing at Tiberius "Shut up, just act natural" as we walked down the sidewalk which I found hilarious. We got him into the apartment and let him go where he promptly hid under my entertainment console. Doug and I went out to get something to eat and when I came back, he crept out timidly and stared at me with big eyes. He has an absolutely ADORABLE face, all round and fluffy with huge honey/jade-colored eyes. Slowly he started to explore the living room--he is still quite timid but as he gained confidence, he started acting a bit more aggressively. When he comes across something suspicious (like my foot moving), he'll rear up slightly on his hind legs which makes me expire with the cuteness. I have to move slowly around him for now, because he's still nervous.

Things I've learned from my kitten:

1) Curled up receipts lying on the floor are highly suspicious and should be checked out and attacked, if necessary.

2) No matter how much room you have to run around in, the room that's off limits is MUCH more interesting.

3) Subways are really noisy.

4) Stand your ground when a larger cat hisses at you, even if she is your sister. It also helps to fluff up your fur to look more intimidating, although she still outweighs you by quite a bit.

Tatia is not happy, needless to say. When she first saw him in the living room, she hissed and then retired to the loft. She is curious though, and sometimes creeps down to catch a glimpse, as if she's thinking "Was that just a horrible nightmare?" Of course she'll see him and hiss again, to which Tibby responds by humping up his back and looking like Halloween Kitty. I have to soothe her, send her back upstairs, and then soothe him and pet his fluffed-up fur. Tatia isn't taking it out on me though; she was quite affectionate last night when I went to bed. She was all Drape-y Kitty, as if to say "yeah, but she sleeps up HERE, with ME."

Tatia was very NAUGHTY last night. At rehearsal, I'm told, they let Baby out and Meg, who's allergic to cats if they get too close, meowed at her. Tatia got upset and hissed back. Oh, doodness. My poor traumatized stray. She doesn't like other cats--I suppose I should've warned Duncan but I didn't realize anyone would be impersonating cats. Poor precious traumatized baby. Kisses for the stripey face. She was fine when I got home, as steppy as ever. (Steppy Cat Mode is when I'm trying to read something on the floor and she steps all over it all nonchalantly "Who, me? I'm just stepping over here...and here...and here...just trying to find a place to sit. Don't mind me.")

...is when a certain fuzzy ferociling leaps into your lap from behind, taking you unawares. Rapidly the creature takes over your lap and occupies every available, loungeable spare inch. Purring ensues. Once a successful attack has been executed, there's really nothing you can do. Just lie back and every so often, bend your head to administer kisses.

Tired again, although at least I slept through the night. Too much going on. Sam French play for which to buy props, rehearsal tomorrow for FFA, rehearsal Friday for Sam French, rehearsal sometime in the next couple of days for AYLI, scripts to copy for AYLI, rehearsal schedule for AYLI, manuscript to proof for Carol. I'm taking refuge by obsessively surfing Target and Beth, Bath & Beyond and Linens & Things, looking for perfect accessories for the apartment. There's a beautiful rug at Target that's calling to me, but it's not cheap.

Tatiana is worrying me. She doesn't like to go into the loft--I think it's because the steps are so steep and slippery, she must've slipped. But she wants to sleep next to me. This morning she leapt onto the dresser, then onto the armoire, then pulled herself up into the loft. That's an accident waiting to happen. I have to buy a cheap rug ASAP and nail it down to she can use the steps. She's been attacking the futon mattress cover lately. I don't understand what the cover could've done; it's so new, it just wants to fit in. But Tatia thinks it must be chastised severely, so I catch her clutching it with wild eyes, and attacking it with her bunny feet and teeth. Then she flops down and rests on it. It's a lot of work being a Mighty Huntress. Doodness!
