I'm so rustrated and upset I'm shaking. I had a message from U-Haul--they've changed all sorts of things about the moving van reservation. I'd originally had a reservation for a location on W. 23rd street--they up and changed it to one in the Bronx, way out there on DFordham Road. I'd also made it from 8am to 4 pm--the manager at the Bronx location said if I get it past 2 om, she'll charge me for a another day. When I called her on it, saying I have an email reseervation, she threatened not to rent it to me at all, saying she would call U-Haul and say she wound';t rent to me. She also can't guarantee the rquipment I reserved, which is the only reason I went with U-Haul=-they have furniture dollies and truck dollies and allo sorts of things to help out everyone. I'm about to cry I'm so pissed off. I HATE U-Haul. Thios move is gong so well, I'm all packed and every6thing and now this. I HATE THEM. Nothing excuses this. Don't make CONFIRMED reservations and then change them all at the last minute. The fucking Bronx. I HATE them.

This same thing happened to Letham. He called to check on the reservation the morning we were supposed to pick up the big furniture item he'd bought, and they were like sorry, we have no trucks available. He had also reserved online, and had a confirmation number, etc...He was on hold with them for almost an hour and they couldn't give him anything more than his deposit back. I believe he took them to task, but I don't think anything came of it.

I wish I'd read your previous entries more closely because I would have grabbed the phone from your hand before you called U-Haul. I have only used Ryder and the private moving company I hired last year for that specific reason. From the first time I ever even considered U-Haul (for my cross-country move to NYC) they were shifty. This same thing of which you speak just happened to my dad in MN. Apparently this is how they do business. They must be stopped.

I am so very sorry that happened to you. I wish that I could have been there to help physically move you, but I'll be happy to take over yelling at them if you run out of steam. Ugh. Lemme buy you a martini next time we're out.

Thank you--see above. Saturday was awful. Never again--and I WILL get my money back. And if I can, drive that woman out of business.

The best thing was the LINE of customers, at least 5-6 people when we finally left, who all had "confirmed reservations"--which meant nothing. I love seeing this big guy with massive muscles leaning menacingly into the bulletproof glass at this woman, saying "I have a reservation--I spoke to you yesterday..." and she just kept shaking her head and denying denying denying. I can understand why the glass is so thick--I would be afraid if I were she. I was so angry, I wanted to throw something at her.

If anyone at all can do it, you can. :) You're great at stuff like that. You demand justice. Yay! Like I said, if you start to get hoarse, I can take over. :)
