Sorry, my dear... It's going to be a yummy Yankee pot roast tomorrow instead. Shrimp is expensive. But keep rooting for me to find a good job, and we'll celebrate with a stuffed shrimp dinner! :)

I think we can do mussels, though I have to ask Tricia about the whole pasta during Lent thing. I was rather hoping to try out my new slow cooker, though, with a pot roast. You've got something against beef?
A bottle of wine would be perfect. Red goes with whichever meal we wind up making. A nice chianti, perhaps.
There's no specific prohibition against pasta during Lent--the one specific prohibition is against meat on Fridays during Lent. And if you want, you can give up something else. And anyway, technically Lent ends after Easter Vigil tonight.
