Holy cow. The Dow is up 125 points today. I think we may be a wee bit overvalued at this point--I can't imagine what's driving it (although admittedly I didn't read the business section today).

I got a bunch of stuff in the mail today from my parents. Liz knit me a scarf (she just started knitting a couple of months ago and still only knows the knit stitch so everything is in garter stitch right now!) and it's all purple and shiny and pretty. Someone loves me. That's what handmade says to me. They ALSO sent me a box of Godiva, in addition to another box of chocolates they'd sent me earlier this month. I've got so much sweet stuff right now, and my show opens this week--I don't dare touch any of it. Julie wants to open the show with my Titania monologue (wherein I am dressed skimpily, per my preference...oh, yeah, and it's right for the character) and stalk all over the stage. (I love that monologue. I'd love to play that role, as well as Puck. "...But with thy brawls, thou hast disturbed our...sport." In my Titania, sport is the ladylike word for...sex.) So I'd best stay away from the Godiva...*sigh*...

They're calling it a "Santa rally." Between the strong holiday sales numbers and the load of loot most people got for Christmas, everyone seems to want to buy. We're certainly overvalued though, especially on the Nasdaq (what else is new there?)

One of the benefits of being the former lead Systems Administrator for the Wall Street Journal is a sort of permanent subscriber status. I'm as hooked now as I was when I worked there, and will remain so, at least until they ask me to start paying for it :)

I'm so dense...

It took me a second re-read to comprehend the Godiva remark. See, when you talk about being dressed skimpily and then refer to "Godiva," chocolate isn't the first thing to come to mind...

Hmm. Not quite that skimpily! Although that would be a great vision of Titania--naked, dusted in gold, perhaps some insubstantial wings peeking from behind her shoulders, a gold circlet on her head. And my hair has gotten pretty long. I think this idea's a keeper.

If you ever choose to run with that idea, I want credit for "costume inspiration!" ;)

Yeah, you should talk to one of your photographers about that.

Why yes! Although none of them are into staged pictures, but I bet I could talk Jordan into it.

*runs off to write email to Jordan*

THe costume for Titania for The Donkey SHow has the Lady Godiva thing going on. The woman who plays the role is entirely topless except she wears butterfly pasties over her nipples.

I think that it is more NYS Law than cowardice. If she were totally topless, she would have to be a certain distance away from the audience, which she can't be for the part.
