We hit it, briefly... But I think it's going to take some time for it to stick. It's a big psychological barrier.
I remember the first time it hit 10,000. I was working for Dow Jones at the time (on the Wall Street Journal website). We had an enormous office party the first time the DJIA actually closed over 10,000. Fun times.
The weird thing is, the winter/spring following 9/11, we hit 10,000 fairly consistently. And then that summer it went to hell and we haven't finished there since. You'd think the months following 9/11 would be the worst but it seemed to have a delayed reaction (after the immediate sell-off, which then rebounded).
