Damn, John Stewart is good--the fake ads are hilarious. Why isn't he getting the love?

UGH, what CRACK was the Academy smoking that possessed them to give the Oscar for Best Song for that piece of crap? "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp"?? Yeah, there's a sentiment we want to promote. And would it have killed the winners to, you know, dress up for an awards ceremony? Disgusting.

I'm a little surprised WOTW didn't get Best Sound--that was really the only thing good about that movie.

Those guys did dress up.

I think during the song they were in regular clothes though and since they had just sung, they accepted the award in regular clothes.
I hope the recorded song sounds a lot better than the performance did because the performance wasn't great.

Am I the only one? I liked it a lot. And this ain't the Grammys. This is about how the song related to the film AND its musical merits.
It seems to me the term "pimp" in this case has a more metaphorical meaning. And YES I know a character in the film is an actual pimp.
Anyway, they won so that's that.

I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know what it adds to the overall film experience, but I didn't like any of this year's nominees. Weak year for original songs.

Side note: the director of Hustle and Flow was Robyn's theatre teacher in high school.
