Which, looking at it now--ugh, it really is appalling. Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] dry_2olives, it is offensive offends me. But I don't have to buy it, I don't have to look at it and I'm certainly not going to call for the guy's death because of it. Most importantly--my faith is not threatened by this idea.

Well, I'm certainly not going to question your right to be offended after giving the photo serious consideration, but thank you for sharing it with others. Believe it or not, the first time I saw it, it was on display in the community room of a church.

It was just above one of Yoko Ono's wooden crosses with a bucket of nails. People were welcome to hammer a nail into the cross and then write in a book how they felt about the experience.

Ah... the early 90's.
