What is HAPPENING?????????????????????????????????????????? I am losing my mind. I will be discovered in a bell-tower shooting people on their way to church and I will be shouting one word: PENIS!!!!!! Actually if I shout PENIS!!!!!!! I won't have to shoot anyone. They'll all fuckin' drop dead.
Too many rules for people with penises.
Maybe we should start a website for the expressed purpose of protecting penii from those who seek to control it.
I am up to HERE with Purported Penis Peckadilloes.
PS Let the little faggot sing the HIGH notes. Jesus Herbert Walker CHRIST!
But the rules aren't just for the penii. The article talks about how they made the rule "for everyone's protection" (I can just imagine that in reassuring, unctuous tones)--there had been girls who'd sung tenor and supposedly were singing too low and hurting their voices.
I used to sing tenor. I liked it because I could actually sing some harmony, as opposed to getting stuck with melody the whole time. (I love being a soprano, but I'm an excellent sight-reader and love to sing harmony.)
I swear to God, Texas is like another country. They enforce gender stereotypes so rigidly, it's like Saudi Arabia with cows. Did you know that when Janis Joplin went to UT, she was voted by some fraternity "ugliest man on campus"? That's the kind of mentality that prevails.
I sang tenor in our accappella choir for a few songs. People need to loosen the hell up. Don't let Bush hear about it, he'll try to pass it as an amendment.
"Association spokeswoman Amy Lear said the group adopted the rule two years ago because of concerns that girls auditioning for tenor parts were hurting their voices by singing too low."
"Taylor, the TMEA president, said he's seen no medical evidence that singing tenor or bass can hurt a countertenor's voice."
What their rule actually says is "girls are physically weak and are incapable of making good decisions for themselves."
I also love how this kid only truly cares for singing, and doesn't give a damn about regular education (emphasis mine):
"Rawls hopes to enroll in a dual program with the New England Conservatory and Harvard University to get a joint degree in vocal performance and some liberal arts subject."
