Sex and the City
May. 11th, 2005 05:11 pmI watched the last two episodes of Sex and the City on TBS last night. Okay, first off--LOVED the ending, yes, Carrie belongs with Big. It's about damn time. Loved it when he gets all Caveman in the hotel when he hears she was sort-of slapped--"I'm going to kick his ass!" Doug called me right in the middle of that scene and I saw it was him, picked up the phone and said "I can't talk right now, I'm watching the last 15 minutes of Sex in the City and I'll call you back. Wait, is this Doug?" (Doug's phone number is blocked so it just reads "Blocked ID.") And I like his name. John suits him.
They threw in (and resolved) an awful lot in this episode--Charlotte's new baby, Miranda's new living situation with Steve's Maaa, PLUS Smith going away on location, their dealing with that, and his coming back. And I gotta say, as much as I like Smith, he's a little too perfect--he's gorgeous, talented, successful and evolved. Doesn't he ever act like an asshole to Samantha? I also thought her chemistry was better with Richard (AKA Ajax from The Warriors)--they had that teasing, sexy banter, like when he said "get that gorgeous ass of yours in here" (i.e., the shower). HOT. OTOH, I teared up when Samantha said "You have meant more to me than any man I've ever known."
I felt awful when Carrie showed up too late for her party. Oh man, that sucked--I felt bad for her fans and Carrie. And Alek is a JERK. I don't like him and his big pointy nostrils. If someone gives up something like that to be with you, you are THANKFUL. Jerk. But in the midst of my dislike for him, I was LOVING her dress in that scene.
I actually understood most of the French in this episode. I should visit there--it wouldn't take me long at all to regain it, I was quite conversational in High School.

Date: 2005-05-11 10:49 pm (UTC)See, the anti-climactic impact of Ep. 1 was missed on me because I didn't see it in the theater, I saw it--a badly filmed pirated copy of it--on the crew channel of a cruise ship in the Western Mediterranean. I didn't understand WHAT the hell was going on, so I really didn't feel the impact of Jar Jar.
