Shallow, Beauty-Oriented Post
May. 11th, 2005 11:55 amLast night I got my brows done. I've had them done before, but usually at the nail salon (i.e., those people don't specialize in it). But I read a while ago that Anastasia is setting up mini-salons at Sephoras--she'll train people in her style and methods, so that you can get an Anastasia-authorized brow job, without paying exorbitant prices. The price is higher than at the nail salon, but not so bad, not when you consider it's being done by a specialist. So I made an appointment and schlepped down to the Times Square Sephora.
My brows are almost completely straight, so they're a bit of a challenge. There is a decent amount of hair (like any blonde I am quite hirsute--one of my mother's nicknames for me as a child was Hairy Clarey, for the fine thick blonde hair that covered my arms) so there's a little wiggle room in which to create an arch. The waxer laid down a stencil and waxed waxed waxed. They look good, albeit not very noticeably different from the nail salon. But she was explaining a lot of technique to me, how to create the illusion of an arch, how to make them more dramatic, what makeup to use. I'm pleased with it, although I certainly won't be doing this every month.
