...Grrr. Paul Giamatti did NOT get nominated for his perfomrance in Sideways. He was fantastic. But then so was Sandra Oh in that movie and she hasn't been getting any noms. I would've given Johnny Depp's nod for Finding Neverland to him.

Kate Winslet got nominated for Eternal Sunshine! Go her. Love her in everything (although I haven't seen that--it just sounds like an odd movie to get nominated).

The Passion of the Christ got *very few* (and only minor) nominations! *claps hands* Yay for not rewarding religious snuff films! (No, I haven't seen that and don't want to--I don't need to be beaten over the head with Mel Gibson's blood-soaked visions to be a good Christian. I know the stations of the cross very well already, thank you.)

I TOTALLY want to see Million Dollar Baby now. Hillary Swank rocks and it got nominated for a bunch of stuff.

I really should see Hotel Rwanda--it looks so good--I just think it's going to be heart-breaking. I was a wreck during Schindler's List, I don't know if I could take another movie like that.

Doug and I are going to be in New Orleans the night of the Oscars--well, the actual ceremony isn't that great, usually.

I loved Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine, but I think it needs to go to the other Cate.
Cate Blanchett rocked it in The Aviator. I genuflect to her Hepburn.
Within her first five minutes on screen, jabbering on about ten subjects at once while golfing, she sealed that nomination. It was grand theft: scene.

It would be very cool, but I don't think Jamie Foxx is going to win for Ray. Although his performance was stellar. I mean, stellar. Jamie Foxx and the persona therein disappeared. It was gone. there was only Ray Charles and that deserves buzz. But he ain't getting it.

I have not seen Hotel Rwanda yet. Really want to see it. I would love to see a character actor like Don Cheadle walk away with that. I doubt it'll happen, but it would be great if it did. Don Cheadle never gets lead stuff. He's usually somewhere in the background, giving life to a scene, all by himself. I really would love to see him get it.

Does anyone have Oscar parties around here anymore? Seriously. Maybe there could be a Tony party in June.
That's more our style, I think.

I haven't seen The Aviator, but Cate Blanchett is quite possibly one of the greatest actors of this generation. She has the ability to completely melt away into the character. When you watch her, you think, "Is that Cate Blanchett? Holy shit!" Prime example: 'The Gift' where she played a "southern hick" and the accent was so dead on, you swore she talked that way in real life. She is a beautiful woman, but a more beautiful actress to watch.

Jamie Foxx was BRILLIANT in Collateral. I didn't see Ray, but after seeing him in Collateral, I wouldn't doubt how great he was in Ray. When watching Collateral, I knew we were watching an amazing actor who has a lot more to show us and will finally get the opportunity.

I don't really get into the Oscars as much as I used to. I think I could care less. Now, the Tony's is a totally different story. Love them.

You have to see Ray, though. You have to see it. You will not believe the transformation.

Now, the Tony's is a totally different story. Love them.

Well, naturally. That's what I thought. Now, the question is, should there be a Tony party this year?

Hey, did you get my email?
