These kids are seriously injured, and they're stuck in the hospital, and of course they want to call home. To quote:

The number ONE request at Walter Reed hospital is phone cards. Because the priority of our government is to continue tax cuts for the likes of Paris Hilton, the government doesn’t pay LD phone charges and these guys, many of them amputees, are rationing their calls home. Many will be there throughout the holidays.

Remember that most are from poor families. It is disgusting that they cannot keep in touch with family after what they have been asked to sacrifice for BushCo, especially this time of year.

Support the troops—-cuz BushCo doesn’t. Send phone cards of any amount to:

Medical Family Assistance Center
Walter Reed Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20307-5001

They say they need an “endless” supply of these—any amount even $5 is greatly appreciated.

I'm gonna do this. As poor as I am, I can certainly spring for a few phone cards for soldiers. Click on the links below for more details, and to help out.

I submitted myself a few weeks ago to a "agency" called Explore Talent--some guy named DaSean called me today and wanted to talk to me. He rattled off all these dazzling sounding auditions, like Rent (either Broadway or the movie), national tours, print ads. With every audition he would tell me how much I'd make if I got it. Also, I was a "sweetie," I was "adorable," I looked "way young." He also worked in twice how "we don't get a commission, we work on a straight fee." When he slowed down, expecting me to get the picture and jump in all starry-eyed, credit card ready, I told him I only worked with agents, I wasn't comfortable working with anything but the normal commission structure. He was very polite, and I hung up quickly.

What a fucking idiot. Dude, my resume along tells you I have some experience. Do you really think I don't see through that bullshit? The hard sell, "you'll make a gazillion dollars with this!!" Oooh, take my money, please!

Morons.

Had a busy week last week. Tuesday through Thursday I was filming a documentary about Elizabeth Bathory in an S&M club in Chelsea. EB was one sick nutso who murdered 600+ young women to drink their blood, to look younger. I played one of the young maidens. As I told Doug, with my braids I looked like a Teutonic maiden sacrifice to Fafner. I got to be dragged in over an Igor's shoulder, tied up by my wrists to the ceiling, have my dress ripped off, stabbed and gutted at close range, and drenched in blood and hung from the ceiling (again). I also got to scream a lot. It was FUN. The second day was my big day, when I did all my closeups and all. I spent most of the afternoon with my wrists tied together from the ceiling, and reacting to a PA standing just off-camera, while the actress playing EB stood close to me so they could get an over-the-shoulder shot. The director was really complimentary to me and was even raving about me the next day!! I felt really good--film acting is such a different animal from theater acting, but I'm starting to feel more comfortable with it. I LOVE acting and I LOVE being an actor.

Saturday I auditioned for The Vagina Monologues which was also very cool. I'd read it through the week before (for the first time) and at the audition they gave us five monologues, and we could choose two of them. I chose the great one that I'm sure everyone chose, "Angry Vagina," and another that I thought I'd never get to do, "The Flood" (older Jewish woman from the Bronx). I had a great conversation with the production staff about the play and what they're doing with it.

Got my hair cut Saturday. Finally got some layers--I look sort of like a latter-day, straight-haired, Farrah Fawcett.
