I was called in at the last minute to work today--I tried to stop on my way to vote but the line was very long, so I'll have to go after work when I'm sure it'll be longer. But, like Rachel, I got a really nice feeling looking at all those people lined up so patiently. A very patriotic feeling. I almost wanted to cry. Good for them--good for us. I love seeing democracy in action.

I'll be going out for lunch in a bit, and I must remember to eat some fruit. I don't eat nearly enough. And maybe some yogurt. Must try to eat healthy this week--I eat waaaay too much crap, especially at this time of year.

It's so beautiful outside. A dry November day.

I went downstairs to the concourse at 30 Rock to get some lunch. NBC has set up a big...to-do, with cameras and microphones and whatnot. If anyone here can watch NBC and see a background that says something like "blog.nbc.com" with three bloggers at their keyboards, that's being broadcast from here. There were a bunch of people milling about, including Ron Reagan! It took me a second to recognize him, because his images in my consciousness are all from the '80s, like when he was on Saturday Night Live and danced with the Joffrey. [obvious]He looks older now.[/obvious]

I love this day. I love watching the news, I love the excitement of staying up late to watch news that will affect me, I love feeling connected to so many other Americans.

Shallow, Clothes-Oriented Post

Today I have a go-see (a modeling "audition") for a shoe modeling gig, so ya gotta show off the legs. Hence, I'm wearing a black silk skirt that swirls around my knees, with my purple CFMs and black hose. I also have on my deep dark purple sweater that shows off the goodies, so I'm wearing a pump-up-the-volume kind of bra. Makeup is appropriately pale and cool.
