Aug. 5th, 2004 01:24 pmI called my voice mail and discovered a message from my friend Barbara Stansell. She's awesome! We did a lot of theater together back in the day (Pirates, Meet Me in St. Louis, Christmas Carol), and she was in the first play I ever directed, Vanities. She's very talented--a really strong physical comedian. The funniest thing about her is that she has this very high-pitched voice and is very pretty, yet is a complete ballbuster who absolutely does not take shit. Just remembering one of her diatribes ("Fuck you, Matt, I don't need your approval!") in her breathy, Jackie O. voice is enough to make me laugh all over again.
She got a job with Court-TV and wants to take it, but it's a pay cut, and she asked about moving in or staying with me, or if I knew of someone who needed a roommate. I said she could stay with me as long as she wanted to, although I wasn't looking for a permanent roommate, and we'd find her an apartment or a roommate. She's coming up next week to check out the space.
