Rehearsal last night went very well. I blocked pretty much all of the show, since Prometheus has no blocking to speak of (he just hangs there). I added an opening sequence before the dialogue starts, wherein Sisyphus pushes the Rock up three times and the Rock rolls down every time. This will be done in half-light, and Duncan suggested music as well. He's going to bring in some Philip Glass (Philip Ass as Bart would say, although I like PG).

It's going to look really good. I'm very pleased right now. And my actors are great--good attitudes, hard-working, engaging. I must say, I'm especially pleased with Duncan's work. Tuesday at the readthrough I gave a general note and Duncan really applied it--his characterization last night was subtly different, but it made a lot of difference to me, it was exactly in the direction that I wanted.

I think this is gonna be a great little play. I can't wait 'til this goes up.

My laptop has shipped! It's scheduled to arrive here by Monday morning, which is way before the April 15 ship date my original order form said. Yay!

I think I'm going to have the indie/undie party May 1. Any objections?

I got a call yesterday from an agency with whom I freelance, and they'd scheduled an audition for me that day, yesterday. By the time I got the message, the scheduled time had passed--I called them and they said to show up anyway and blame them (the agency). I've never done an audition on such short notice and I almost said no, but went anyway, for karma (putting signals out to the universe and all). It was at Ripley-Grier for an educational video. I went in, did my thing, but didn't feel good about it. I could feel my lack of film technique (I HAVE to start improving that--I am simply too theatrical for film). But today the agency called and told me I was called back, and the guy made a point of thanking me for showing up on such short notice. The callback is tomorrow.

So--happy. I guess I did better than I thought.
