Ocean2
You come from the Ocean. You've always been drawn
to the sea, the sound of the waves, the crystal
blue water, near the sea is where you belong.

"Cool Change"--Little River Band
If there's one thing in my life that's missing
It's the time that I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear water
It's kind of a special feeling
When you're out on the sea alone
Staring at the full moon, like a lover

CHORUS:
Time for a cool change
I know that it's time for a cool change
Now that my life is so prearranged
I know that it's time for a cool change

Well I was born in the sign of water
And it's there that I feel my best
The albatross and the whales they are my brothers
There's lots of those friendly people
And they're showing me ways to go
And I never want to lose their inspiration..

I've never been romantic
And sometimes I don't care
I know it may sound selfish
But let me breathe the air
Let me breathe the air...

Always loved that song--I, born in Coronado, on the water..

I dream of the sea a lot. I sometimes think in a past life I must've died at sea--so many of my dreams involve peril from the sea (sharks, tidal waves--lots of dreams about tidal waves). But I love it--I love the sound of the waves, the color of the salty water, the birds...so soothing...

I ordered a couple of items from Target.com on 7/25 that were indicated to be in stock--after several emails and calls to their customer service department, one item has finally arrived. It's my new ice cream maker which I can't wait to use. Still waiting on the CD shelves.

However, the rug that I ordered from homedecoroneline2.com (AKA American Blinds, Wallpaper & More--take notes because I don't think anyone else should risk ordering from them) still, still, STILL has not arrived. It arrived in New York last TUESDAY and due to (1) ABW& misaddressing the package (and I know it was they because I printed out a copy of my original order, and I did indeed give them the correct address, (2) FedEx being completely incompetent on several occasions, the package is either sitting in the ground delivery center in Brooklyn or going out, and then going right back to said center. I have made at least 6 phone calls to FedEx about this--my head is exploding. This level of incompetence is just unbelievable. I don't know what else I can do--I've corrected the address three times now, although the communication between the people at 1-800-FEDEX and the actual delivery people seems to be minimal at best. I even spoke to a guy at the ground center, who tried to hail the delivery guy on his truck but he wasn't picking up. Just unbelievable. I don't know what else I can do.

My rug has finally arrived. I may breathe again.

In weekend news, Duncan, Goatboy and I went downtown to see Jason Liebman (my Orlando) in the Gorilla Rep 5-person version of Henry V, called The Henry 5. They perform it in Washington Square Park, throwing lights onto different spaces and the audience has to scurry over to see the scene. Jason was excellent, playing many different parts, including Chorus, the French envoy and Alice. (Alice? Katherine's lady.) The one girl was dreadful, waaaay too presentational and smiled on every damn line, including all through the Hostess's monologue about Falstaff's death. Her intonations were odd too--her voice kept rising on inappropriate lines, until I finally remembered of whom she reminded me--"California will be a sight for THESE weary eyes." The two middle guys (as I thought of them--not the one lead and not Jason) were pretty good. One guy looked like Russell Crowe but with longer, wavier hair. Henry was hot. Shouty but hot. Duncan did an hilarious imitation of him.

Deliciously, Jason told me yesterday that Henry said something very complimentary about me when he spotted me talking with Jason after the show. Hee hee. I'M a MOVIE STAR!!! Henry V said so.
