Must be a left-wing plot to steal the spotlight from the GOP.

It is suspiciously well-timed.

What do you think of my new journal design?

I like the moon picture, but don't you find it a little difficult to read?

A little, but once I've written it, I only need to read the comments, which open onto a more easily-read format. You guys can read it fine, right, because you usually read it on your Freinds page, which is formatted differently, yes?

Sometimes it is easier to go to a person's journal when looking for something that they said specifically instead of scrolling down through your friends pages. Depending on what LJ style you are using, you will either see your friend's entries in your own style, in their style or the page with the menu bar on top and a white background. I like the moon picture as well, but I would suggest (a) making all your type bold and (b) changing your main font color to white for more contrast.

Good call, Heidi! That is easier to read.

I like the glowy, night-out-on-the-town feeling on the moons. But then I love moons anyway, as anyone who's ever visited my apartment knows.

I love moons as well. The one you chose for your journal has that perfect feeling of awe and wonder that I enjoy when I go stare at it at the Hoboken waterfront.

Glad I could help. :)

I'll hand it to the Democrats: their timing is impeccable. We did all we could, but we couldn't keep Reagan alive until the DNC.

And you know the political climate is ugly when we have to make morbid jokes to break the tension!

Why should Reagan's death impede anything? You could've pushed back the convention a couple of days and call it "Weekend at Ronnie's."

I was referring to the week of non-stop coverage it received, which could've overshadowed the DNC if the timing were right. Between Reagan's death and Clinton's book, Kerry could barely get his face on TV in the month of June.

Oh yeah, and that was a good one. Right in keeping with the morbid turn this post has taken :)
