The following are the winners of this year's festival:
THE CASSEROLES OF FAR ROCKAWAY by Seth Bauer
FEET OF CLAY by David Caudle
ALL IN LITTLE PIECES by John Yearly
NATURAL HISTORY by Jennifer Camp
MY WIFE'S COAT by Kellie Overbey
KING AND THE CONDEMNED by Larry Brenner
To pass on due praise, the editors at French were very pleased with the caliber of scripts in the finals and those that were selected for publication and complimented all involved.
I personally want to thank all participants on behalf of the staff for making this year's festival a chance to see some very high-quality work. This, and the chance to meet some lovely people and to renew old connections, is what makes our experience worthwhile. A special thank-you to those who donate their time to judge this festival, for only their love of the theatre and new works.
For those who have asked, the complete list of finalists is below. All participants should keep in mind that the judges of each night had difficult choices to make, and without exception were very complimentary of the work, including plays they ultimately could not choose for the finals. And it's rumored that French actually considered putting out a second book this year, as the quality of the entire finals was excellent.
Hope you'll return next year. If you know of any other company that should participate, make sure they contact Samuel French, Inc., to be placed on the mailing list for next year's application.
Have a wonderful summer.
Cynthia

I find the part I put in bold italics interesting. A second book? So we'd get published again? What fun!
