New York Celebrity alert

I saw Anna Gasteyer today approaching Times Square. I started to smile--I couldn't help it, I was just so tickled at seeing her--and she looked up and smiled back and waved at me. It was nice.

I also saw Alicia Calloway (from Survivor and Survivor All Stars) last Friday in the ATA building right before out Hillside tech.

And I'm pretty sure I saw Sarah of America's Next Top Model in Times Square this afternoon.

I haven't seen any celebrities today but I think I may have found Waldo yesterday.

Yes, she's from SNL. I think she also played the mother in Mean Girls.

How is it that I have been living in this area since late 1998 and I have yet to see a celebrity? What am I doing wrong? The only celebrity I have seen is David Blaine, but he was encased in a block of ice.

I guess I need to hang out at Times Square in order to see someone interesting.

I dunno. I've been working in Times Square for just about a year now, and the only celebrity I've spotted there is P. Diddy, and that's only because he had offices in my building.

Of course, the chances of me recognizing somebody the kids are excited about are pretty slim. I may in fact get pissed off at a celebrity on a daily basis.

Maybe I don't see them because I don't pay attention to other people around me except to know when they are a threat. However, I used to work in Midtown on 6th and 47th (by Radio City and Rockefeller Center), 42nd and 5th (across from Bryant Park), and 56th and 3rd (by Bloomingdales)- areas that could have been frequented by celebrities... you would think I would have seen at least one in those environs.
