Okay, people named David need to stop writing interesting books. I can't keep up. In the last couple of weeks I've read Absolutely American by David Lipsky, Triangle by David von Drehle and The Jews of Prime Time by David Zurawik. And I want to read (or reread) The Fifties by David Halberstam.

It's a plot.
