Rehearsal last night went better than I thought, although there were three people waiting for me when I got home *sigh*. I taped A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Simple Life, The Real World Paris Reunion and Rich Girls. All my crap TV (with the exception of CB Xmas) all at once, and watched it all after everyone had left. So I got to bed kind of late, and then of course got called in to work this morning. The desk where I'm sitting is a huge mess--it's very difficult to find anything here and I keep knocking piles over. But at least the guy for whom I'm working is nice.

After all that I ended up ordering the Charlie Brown 3-disk Holiday DVD (with Xmas, Thanksgiving and Great Pumpkin) and the DVD for Shakespeare in Love. Cannot wait. They should arrive next week.

Was Paris Hilton in overalls even remotely worth watching?

I need a Tivo.

Did everyone go back to hating CT in RW Paris? The female cast members did not seem to get along with him in particular...

Nah, it was pretty much all luv 'n' kisses. They never call people out on their shit at these reunions. I was disappointed that nobody called Leah and CT out on their plagiarism either.

Adam redeemed himself for his "rhymes" by getting a decent haircut. And it turns out Ace is half-French by way of his mother. Who knew?

It was amusing, if a bit obviously scripted. Overall the humor--on both sides' expense--was good-spirited.

I remember when they did a reunion of the Miami through Hawaii casts a few years ago (Hawaii had just finished airing). During the segment with the Seattle cast, Irene of the "I have Lyme disease" fame, did not appear in person but was seen in a tape calling half of her housemates out on their shit, particularly Nathan and Steven (who slapped her as she was leaving the house for the last time).

Unfortunately, since the relatively recent incidents of kicking cast members off the show for excessive violence (starting with the woman on Road Rules-Latin America for insurance liability purposes), it seems that the producers of RW and RR have disallowed confrontations where everyone's shit is pointed out.

Yay!

Alex, Mike, and I watched "Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown" on Monday.

It was delightful, but the best part is that I taped it off CBS 18 years ago. 18 years that I've had VCR's in my life. Scary. But all of the old commercials from back then were on the tape -- our culture is so radically different now.

I wish so much that I'd taped more episodes of old shows in this manner.
