I'm still stuck in neutral on the Virginia Tech story (I wore maroon and orange today for them) but have y'all seen this?

The guy clearly has some serious anger issues. I can't *imagine* talking to an 11-year-old like that, much less his own daughter. Although I also think whoever leaked it, should not have--it will only make her reconcilation with her dad that much more difficult. Poor kid.

I feel sorry for the kid. My guess is that her dad is pissed at her mom, and so he took it out on her. Those two are just a disaster.

Stuff like this happens so often - I worked at a Perkins restaurant for over 3 years and a lot of parents talk to their kids in this way. There is new evidence that shows emotional abuse like that is much much more damaging than physical or sexual abuse of children.

It makes me sick. It wasn't 'right' to leak that phone message, but maybe it will be better in the long run. Maybe now that the world knows he talks to his daughter this way he might take a step back and realize what he is doing is wrong and change his behavior. <3
