Jan. 20th, 2006 12:32 pmIt's amazing how much better you feel when you've gotten enough sleep. I went to bed at 12:00 last night and athough I did sleep through the alarm--or rather, I hit the snooze for a full hour--I feel well-rested and generally great, and am full of energy.
Last night was a quiet night anyway--I started another DVD (Prince Caspian, the BBC/Wonderworks version) and devoted myself to the taxing problem of how to keep my hands adequately moisturized during the winter. I HATE that tight, painful feeling in my skin, and it's hell on my nails. So last night I heated up some lotion in the microwave (about 15 seconds) and dunked my fingers in that, and then steamed my hands (which I was doing anyway for my face) and THEN slathered lotion on my hands. The heat opens up the pores which helps more lotion get in.
Although it's been a pretty good winter so far--I'm shocked! Highs in the 50s! Amazing. It feels like spring and it's difficult to remember it's January.
