Soooo....very good news. The Spotlight On awards were last night at the Monster and, um, I won the Best Actress award. I really was in shock. I did NOT think I would win. Really. I saw only one other performance, Susan's, and and she was fantastic. Man. I'm still kind of over-the-moon. I was all Southern beauty queen when I went up on the stage, althought the HUGE smile with my Northern European choppers kind of ruined the comparison. Man, I have some teeth. You could process food in my mouth, my teeth are so big. I made a tearful little speech thanking everyone and as I finished I heard from the audience the dulcet tones of my loving friends, yelling in chorus "Shut up and show us your tits!" Perfect.
I was wearing a very short black dress (I described it a few days ago) with Mardi Gras beads and purple pumps. Here's a couple of pictures of it:

I would've gotten more pictures but the whole thing went kind of fast--I got there at 6:00, right when the award started, and didn't have as much time to socialize as I would've liked. Duncan's mom, Grace, and her companion were there, as were Seth and Rachel. Jon Crefeld, who was in Eternity was also there, as was Joe Fanelli and his mom.
Duncan won the Playwright's Award for Best Full-Length Play--his speech was fairly short and he had a huge grin on his face the whole time. Joe won for Best Featured Performer and was a total little drama queen, clutching his pearls on stage. I loved it. He is such a cutie. And my little duckling, Jason, won for Best Supporting Actor! I got everyone's speeches on videotape--as I said to Joe, I'm one of those relatives.
