Shallow, Clothes-Oriented Post (& Cetera)

Today it's all about the purple--lavender, wine, dark pink. Up top a tight, lavender turtleneck, paired with a purple/pink tweed skirt with dark purple velveteen ribbon detail around the hips. I have on my wine-and-red suede boots, with my hippie necklace--a very long silver chain with a gynormous rhodonite pendant (a very pretty silver setting that I got in Sedona, Arizona, with little purple stones as well). Also, my silver bathtub earrings--I got these from a designer at a street fair in the Upper West Side. They're these weird silver twisty/rectangular configurations with little clear and blue balls in them that are meant to represent water. In a bathtub. I love these earrings. Makeup is simple and clear--very pale pinks and lavenders.

Since the Suave gig I've been all sorts of inspired with hair--we got our hair styled a lot and I asked the stylists a lot of questions. Now I want to try new things with it, but I didn't have much time this morning really to play with it. One thing they did was use a ceramic flat iron--apparently ceramic hair care products are the thing now, because they don't burn your hair like metal does. Guess where I'm going as soon as I get back from New Orleans? Ricky's!! Or the beauty supply store on 8th Ave.

By this time tomorrow, Doug and I will be in New Orleans, basking in the...well, the relative warmth. It's supposed to be in the '60s there, which is good enough for me. God, I need some heat. And sun. And a hurricane or two.
