Kuh-raziness
Dec. 2nd, 2004 06:16 pmTemp assignments are not exactly coming fast and furious these days. So I've been throwing an assortment of lures into the water, hoping something will come back. Elizabeth (*mwah*) gave me the name and number of a guy who uses actors to test potential employees for a sort-of cold calling brokerage firm. BAM. Got that gig. A friend of mine gave me the number of a catering place where I've been calling in my availability for gigs. BAM. Scored two (two!) next week. Least-excitingly-but-hey-it's-work-and-therefore-money...for the next three weekends, 12-4 Saturdays and Sundays, I'll be handing out perfume samples at a mall in Queens. Yeah, it sucks. I'd rather cater. But what are ya gonna do?
Am also creating a new version of my resume with an eye toward improv gigs. Upon fiddling with it, I realize a lot of my stuff can be seen in this light--both Lady of Copper and Fare for All had improv sections, FFA especially so. It also occured to me that Hair has some improv, and of course the shows I did on the ship were very interactive. I also did a couple of murder mystery gigs way back in the day in Virginia--I haven't listed them on my resume in a loooong time so it took me quite awhile to remember the names of the shows! Thank God for the internet--I kept doing search after search, and gradually remembering what the shows were about, and then BAM and BAM--the names popped back in my head.
