Had a busy week last week. Tuesday through Thursday I was filming a documentary about Elizabeth Bathory in an S&M club in Chelsea. EB was one sick nutso who murdered 600+ young women to drink their blood, to look younger. I played one of the young maidens. As I told Doug, with my braids I looked like a Teutonic maiden sacrifice to Fafner. I got to be dragged in over an Igor's shoulder, tied up by my wrists to the ceiling, have my dress ripped off, stabbed and gutted at close range, and drenched in blood and hung from the ceiling (again). I also got to scream a lot. It was FUN. The second day was my big day, when I did all my closeups and all. I spent most of the afternoon with my wrists tied together from the ceiling, and reacting to a PA standing just off-camera, while the actress playing EB stood close to me so they could get an over-the-shoulder shot. The director was really complimentary to me and was even raving about me the next day!! I felt really good--film acting is such a different animal from theater acting, but I'm starting to feel more comfortable with it. I LOVE acting and I LOVE being an actor.

Saturday I auditioned for The Vagina Monologues which was also very cool. I'd read it through the week before (for the first time) and at the audition they gave us five monologues, and we could choose two of them. I chose the great one that I'm sure everyone chose, "Angry Vagina," and another that I thought I'd never get to do, "The Flood" (older Jewish woman from the Bronx). I had a great conversation with the production staff about the play and what they're doing with it.

Got my hair cut Saturday. Finally got some layers--I look sort of like a latter-day, straight-haired, Farrah Fawcett.

Bathory was nuts. There is some cool stuff about her in the Crime Library online. The amazing thing I think about the story is that they couldn't really punish her for her crimes because she was nobility and could do whatever she wanted. It was only after she ran out of peasants and started slaughtering the upper classes that any notice at all was taken of her.

Congrats on the professional success!
