Things Today That are Making Me Happy...
Mar. 27th, 2007 02:05 pm*The weather. It's 74, y'all! Sunny! People are walking around! Break out the bikinis, woo hoo!
*I went to the Inconvenient Post Office (it's on 146th Street, 11 blocks away) to pick up the package I've had waiting--I was expecting a horrible long line like last Saturday but there was only 1 person in line! I was in and out in 5 minutes!
*While walking back from the IPO, I passed a Mexican joint and stopped there. It had a TONY magazine rave review in the window, and it's super-cheap, and yet has a few tables and serves beer. I ordered some nachos to go, and picked up a menu--and a postcard advertising another Mexican restaurant right across the street. The latter is an actual restaurant, a lounge with one of those neon greaseboards in front. Two restaurants in my neighborhood with actual food that I like! A place that serves drinks! This means I can eat something nearby!
*Something weird happened to my cable. The other day the picture had cut out--I could only get broadcast channels. I fiddled with the TV and cable box cables, and when I turned it on again, not only did I have the cable channels back, but the "Info" button had gained new and interesting abilities. The Info button just used to say the channel name--now it reads the program name and summary, the length and a bunch of other interesting features. I can even pull up a TV guide with the picture in the upper right corner. It's like that episode of Friends where they suddenly get free porn. Gifts of cable, falling from the sky...
*Did I mention how beautiful it is outside...?
