New Orleans
Aug. 31st, 2005 09:44 amI am heartsick about the situation in New Orleans. I am definitely going to give money to my favorite city, and it occurred to me this morning to direct it where I know it'll do some good. goldilocksprime) college friend Madeleine is from New Orleans, and we know her parents. In fact my mother went to college with Madeleine's mother--they both went to Sophie Newcomb, although Mad's mom was three years ahead of my mother. They were both in the music program there. Anyway, it occurred to me to give money to her parents (if they'll take it, that is--not as an act of charity, but just one human helping out another) rather than to the Red Cross or Catholic charities.
