ceebeegee: (Me)
Saturday Alex hosted a karaoke birthday party for Don at one of those karaoke places in the 30s. Tim and I went to one of them a few years back, with Chuck (friend of Tim's, part-owner of the Patriots) and his much-younger girlfriend, May. The four of us were in a little room with a booth, at the end of which was the video screen. We ordered food and just took turns singing. Weird but fun. Anyway, this was a bigger room for a much bigger crowd. There was a table in the middle and lots of food that Grace, Donald's mom, had brought--she is such a nurturer. She offered Doug and me scorpions when we came in--they had teeny little flowers on them as a garnish. I love perfect little details like that. The karaoke was TONS of fun--the book's selection was HUGE with lots of musical theater songs. I sang "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop... with Duncan, "Jacob and Sons" from Joseph... with a bunch of people joining in on the chorus parts, and "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" from Evita. Doug jumped up and sang the Che backup. Doug sang one of Judas's songs from JCS and...some other stuff that I can't remember.

Worked out yesterday. I was on the treadmill for 50+ minutes and then did some weights. Updated my Netflix queue today--pushed up the Dallas episodes and added a BUNCH of documentaries, including "In Search of the Trojan War" (I have the book version of that).

So I joined Netflix and watched some DVDs this past week.
