The show got out late last night--11:30--so I didn't get home until well after midnight. Then I stayed up for awhile longer online, and didn't get to be until 2:45, after a weekend of staying up quite late. Sleeeeepy. I woke up this morning to my radiator hissing wildly, and spewing steam all over my bedroom. I crawled down from the loft to turn it off, then crawled back to sleep for 15 more minutes.

Damn. Very tired. I need to do laundry but tonight I think I'll just crawl home and lay like broccoli.

Dahhh. Coffee good. Caffeine good.

Another achingly gorgeous clear October day in Manhattan today. I store such days in my soul, to bank against the winters here.

I think I'm going to watch my DVD of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown tonight. Cozy goodness from the Peanuts gang. With all my Halloweeny candles lit and glowy.

I'm trying to find a Catwoman costume for Jon and JoAnne's party (they have a comic book character theme) that looks sexy but doesn't break the bank. Ricky's has one--the officially licensed one from the Halle Berry movie--for $50, but I'm trying to find something for less. I want tight PVC pants and the halter top; I'm sure I can find ears or something like that anywhere for not too much. I've checked eBay but I'm not coming up with much.

Have you guys heard about this?

The conservative-leaning Sinclair Broadcast Group, whose television outlets reach nearly a quarter of the nation's homes with TV, is ordering its stations to preempt regular programming just days before the Nov. 2 election to air a film that attacks Sen. John F. Kerry's activism against the Vietnam War, network and station executives familiar with the plan said Friday.

This is...unbelievable. Doesn't this go against FCC regulations? WTF?

What a bunch of fucking thin-skinned pricks. Fuck you, Sinclair. These are the same people that blacked out Ted Koppel's roll call of the American military dead in Iraq last April. Way to honor your troops, guys! *sarcastic applause* Nice to see you couldn't even bear to hear the names of those who died for this war. We can blithely choose to go to war, without ever having to confront the ultimate cost of it.

What was that about the vast left-wing conspiracy of the "liberal media"? Yeah.

The more I hear about shit like this, the angrier it makes me. We the people apparently can't be trusted to make up our own minds. We have to be spoonfed our opinions and our votes. Nice to see at least McCain has the balls to stand up to them--I don't agree with his policies but he's got integrity.
