Paaaain, Part II
Jul. 6th, 2004 11:32 amAs faithful readers know, I've been going to the dentist a lot lately. Last Thursday I paid my fourth visit in three weeks, with one more yet to come. I had two fillings put in, and the dentist told me I might have some sensitivity to heat and cold for a little while on the left side of the mouth. I had a little pain this weekend but popped some ibuprofen and that took care of it. I noticed yesterday I was down to my last ibuprofen tablet and forgot to buy more on my way to rehearsal.
Well, I woke up at 6 am this morning with PAAAAINNNN. I lay there, hoping it would dissipate but it wasn't going anywhere. With no ibuprofen, I tried ice, and made an ice pack and held it to my mouth for a good 25 minutes. Nope. Then I remembered I had PAAAAAINNN medication from the tooth extraction I'd had two weeks previously. The good stuff, the big guns. In fact I have two kinds--the day stuff and the night stuff. Since I had to get up at 8:15, I took the day stuff. I waited awhile but it seemed not be kicking in right away. I decided to go back to bed and hope the paaaaainnn would go away. I lay there in bed and tried all my mind over matter tricks to forget my mouth and fall asleep. Eventually I did, and woke up with no more paaaaaaaiiinn. Although I look a little wild-eyed, no doubt.
