Pray for the people of New Orleans. If Ivan hits it directly, it will ruin this beautiful, inexpressably romantic, blurry-edged city.

I love this city very much. My parents met and married there, and my older brother was born there. I dream of moving there someday. I don't want it to slide into the sea.

Makes me wish I had gone there for Mardi Gras this year, as I was planning to. If the Big Easy survives this hurricane (as seems likely; the forecast track has Ivan hitting Mobile, AL directly), I will definitely schedule a trip soon!

We should all go down there. New Orleans is a national treasure, and Mardi Gras is THE time to go.

If Mardi Gras weren't sandwiched between two planned sailing trips, I would go in a heartbeat. I may need to choose a different time, though. But a group trip would be cool, at whatever time!

I have always wanted to go there and experience the culture... I have always been intrigued by its French influence.

It has so much to offer...jazz, art, great food, GREAT holidays--Mardi Gras is the best, every city needs a Mardi Gras--the inspiration of so many compelling stories. New Orleans is a unique treasure. God, I want to go again.
