Game of Thrones

A sudden thought just occurred to me. I have a feeling that Sansais going to die. The Stark children's direwolves are obviously avatars to some extent--Nymeria is alone and on her own (like Arya), Shaggy Dog is shaggy (like Rickon), Ghost is the different one (like Jon)...and Lady died early on.

I haven't finished the second book yet, and haven't seen the season finale yet, so I'm just speculating.

I do hope I'm wrong, she's one of my favorite characters.

HBO has officially found a way to block all streaming of the show...so I have not seen the finale either. I've finished all the books that are out so far so I won't tell you anything.

Really? Even for HBO GO accounts?

I use several sites for shows (at least I do if I can't get them on Amazon for cheap/free) and none of them have ANY links for the finale. Not even the HBO link. maybe they broke their internet...

I just finished watching the first half of the 2nd season yesterday. It's interesting to see where they stayed true to the books, where they stayed somewhat true, and where they deviated completely. Not sure how far along you are in the second book, so I won't say anything.

I'm almost at the end, Dany is in the House of the Undying. Arya is still at Harrenhal and Roose Bolton has taken control.

I absolutely adore Jaqen in both the series and the book. LOVELOVELOVE it when he gives her that little bow in the godswood. "My lady of Stark."

Yeah, Jaqen is pretty damn cool. In fact, the Harrenhall storyline is one of the most memorable parts of the story for me. Although I've read the books more than once, they're so big and have so many characters and storylines that it's hard for me to remember a lot of the specifics, but I remember actually skipping ahead to read the chapters involving Arya in Harrenhall because I was so engrossed with her story (I even did this when re-reading the book).

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the differences between the book and the show in that storyline, as there were some fairly significant changes. Also, I'm curious how you envision the characters when you read the books? Do you picture them as they appear on the show? I read the books first, and in some cases the TV characters look a lot different from how I had pictured them (Asha/Yara comes to mind, and she looks nothing like how I pictured her). Of course, that's partly because they aged several of the characters on the show roughly 10 years, since some of the scenes would likely be illegal to shoot otherwise.
