Aria da Capo performance and Incident in Times Square

Last night was the second and final performance of "Aria da Capo." It went very well, slightly better than Friday. The audience--the Big Black Giant--was very appreciative; they had great energy.

Afterward a bunch of us went over to Duncan's and helped him drink up his leftover supply of beer and wine from his party last week. Paula, Jason and I ordered sushi--God, it was good. Nothing like stuffing your face with raw fish and tempura. It was so delicious, I think I'll do sushi again tonight.

I took the bus home and after leaving Port Authority, had a strange experience. As I approached 42nd and 9th, I became aware of someone yelling--I looked over and saw two girls, one holding up the other, and a guy following them yelling and badgering one of the girls. As I crossed 42nd St., I saw the guy slapping at her and throwing her against the temporary plywood wall under the scaffolding, and yelling something about how much money he'd spent on her. There was quite a crowd at this point--I pulled out my mace and was about to try to stop this but a guy stopped me and said if I had a cell phone, I should call the police instead. I called 911 three times but kept getting a recording so I called information and asked for the police, and was then connected. They sent out a couple of cars who screeched dramatically across 42nd St. and arrested the loser. I was asked a few questions by a policeman--I suppose my Columbine ponytails and I looked marginally more credible than the other Deuce denizens.
