Alex's Party

So Alex had her burfday soiree Saturday night, at a bar downtown called Antarctica. The deal was $20 for a three-hour open bar. They snap a link onto your wrist and give you a lil' plastic stadium cup in which to drink. The drinks were VERY STRONG. I like a little cranberry juice with my vodka, thanks. Doug and I played pool and kicked some ass. I actually played a good game--Doug taught me some technique over Thanksgiving and this was the first chance I'd had to put it into practice. He was watching the Jets football game between shots and was testosteronically happy when they won in overtime. During one particularly vociferous fist-punched yell, Keith looked at me and drawled "He is so straight, isn't he?" I like that about Doug. He's such a guy.

Keith and I had a cool conversation about working together. I would like that.

Doug and I left around 1:something, and walked to the WTC PATH station which is all gorgeous and new. They also take MTA cards now which is awesome--no more scrounging around for $1.50 late at night.

I beg to differ. Although such things can be difficult to quantify, I can assure you that the athletic collective with which I identify is in fact superior.

My favorite team of course is the New York Avionic Propulsion Units. It used to be the New York Enhanced Mass Beings but I switched several years ago.

And of course I can't wait for next season's match up between the New York and Boston baseball collectives: The New York Derisive North American Inhabitant Appellations and the Boston Rouge Pedular Extremity Garments. Go Appellations!

Not a big fan of the WTC PATH station. I am there every day but find it a little bit creepy. As you come in from Hoboken, your train goes directly into the basin and you see what is left of the buildings. You emerge from the PATH and you see all these quotes on the walls from celebrities telling you how amazing and awesome and incredible NYC is. The two views at once are eerie.

That is kind of odd. I don't think I noticed that. But I love the phoenix-like quality of a shiny new station on that site.

Come into the station from Hoboken during the day. It is less pronounced now as they started building.
