Laptop has shipped!

My laptop has shipped! It's scheduled to arrive here by Monday morning, which is way before the April 15 ship date my original order form said. Yay!

You're talking to the wrong person...I had to be steered away from Gateway because I liked the boxes. It's all about aesthetics for me.

I love the Gateway boxes too! I have always said that if I ever become destitute, I would want one of those boxes (on which I would paint purple splotches) to be my new home in cardboard box alley in Central Park. :)

Dell or HP/Compaq. Unless you're getting a laptop, in which case you should also look at IBM. As to the details, that always depends on what you're planning to do with it.

I think that Compaq is slipping a bit. New ones are not kicking ass as much as olders ones did. I don't like Dell laptops either but that has to do with their design.
