Stacy's Mom has got it goin' on

I'm in love with a new video/song (new to me, although apparently it's been around since July) called "Stacey's Mom." It's so freakin' cute. It's about this kid, around 12, who wants to hang around with this girl, Stacey--all so he can check out her mother who's a megababe (played by Rachel Hunter in the video). They have all these ridiculous scenarios like he's mowing their lawn and the mother is getting a massage on the lawn, or she's undressing in front of an open window. The kid, of course, is being tortured. The funniest part is when he turns around and she's a full-on rocker babe, dancing on the tables, dressed in black leather, hair whipping everywhere. The last sequence shows him fantasizing about her in the pool and they do the Phoebe Cates coming out of the water bit from Fast Times at Ridgemont High--and the girl, Stacey, walks in on him in the bathroom. Some people on TWoP were criticizing it for that reason, saying the kids were too young--well, as someone with three brothers, let's just say I don't think that's implausible at all. Obviously if the woman were aware of this and pursued it, that would be disgusting (Mary Kay Letourneau would be a terrible subject for a video!) but the whole thing is a fantasy for him--and even twelve-year old boys have sexual fanatsies.

It sounds weird, but I just think the video is so cute. The kid is so wide-eyed, the girl is just adorable (and yeah, probably reading too much into this but one thing I liked was how you could tell she's going to grow up to be just like her mother) and the whole thing just works.

I've heard the song a couple of times (Jay plays it at Trivia a lot), and it's incredibly catchy. I'll have to check out the video when I get home.
