L'Ami d'Anya

You know if I just read it, I'm fine, but if I try to TRANSLATE it my brain explodes. Language comprehension is read.

Same with me. It's why I always speak better French when I'm drunk. My head isn't in the way.

ETA: And when I was in high school, when I forced myself NOT to translate, but rather to think in the language, that's when I started really getting somewhere--that's the essential step you take to achieve fluency.

Go for it. Always nice to brush up.

I need to practice my French, too. I only studied for one year in college, and usually get by speaking Spanish with a French accent. (Oddly enough, that usually seems to work.)

We should find a conversational group somewhere.

I can read your entry and understand it perfectly. I am just crap at speaking.
