A hero lives in my buiding

Yesterday I was leaving my building for work and noticed several people in the courtyard calling out to a guy. I looked up and saw this guy. I knew that incident happened at my subway station (that is, the one I use every day) but I didn't realize he lived in my building! He was having his photograph taken by a couple of news guys--I passed by him, smiled at him and gave him two thumbs up.
