RIP Ann Richards

Ann Richards, former Governor of Texas, died.

I thought she was terrific. I still remember her ad a couple of years later after her defeat for re-election, when she was talking about the Cowboys and I guess they'd been losing or they lost the Super Bowl, and she said ruefully "they always won when I was Governor." What a great sense of humor. She was just awesome.

She will be missed. Such a terrific representative for the Democratic Party and fighter for the underprivilidged.

(Although she was completely wrong with her Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers comment. Maybe if she said Adele Astaire could do everything Fred could do...)

She was probably one of the most likeable and real people I've ever seen in politics... Always loved listening to her talk.
