Shallow, Clothes Oriented Post
Today I'm wearing a cream-colored sweater that I found last weekend at my Mom's--inside the collar is a label that reads "From the Needles of Dorothy Hix*," my great-aunt who died last month. She knit it for my mother in the '50s and this is classic, vintage '50s with 3/4 sleeves, high waist and a demure little collar. I'm wearing it with the top two buttons undone and nothing on underneath to merge the demure with the sexy. My hair is long and straight with a jeweled butterfly clip to hold it back on one side, plus very simple makeup.
*Isn't that darling? I love that she knit as well as me, and that she has her own labels just as I do. However, mine say "Hand Knit by Clara Barton Green" and they have little hearts on them. Her technique was fierce--the ribbing is especially noteworthy (there's cable in the ribbing).

I'm starting to get a little knit happy these days. I'm carrying my knitting with me to work and I'm almost finished with my very first project. A free-hand scarf. It's not much, but it's a start.

I'll have to stop on Sunday for acting class, but that's about it. If we can find some break time, I'll be glad to.
