As unhappy as I am about the election results, there is one bright ray of hope--they occurred without any violence. There was no terrorism--no weekend before surprise a la Madrid. It could've been worse.
I posted along these lines when the ObL video came out the Friday before the election. I think it's pretty clear that if al Qaeda could've pulled a Madrid on us, they wouldn't have settled for a videotape instead, and I agree, this is a very good sign.
