Shallow, Clothes-Oriented Post

Today I'm wearing all purple and orange, set off by black. I have on a thick, nubby purple and orange sweater that's rather low-cut and makes me look quite voluptuous. I think of this as my "secretarial" sweater (it looks like something Jennifer on WKRP would wear)--I always put my hair up with it, and want to wear hot granny glasses and bend over. Also have on a black leather skirt with black hose and purple suede pointy-toed, spike-heeled pumps. Also wearing my pumpkin earrings, and orange lipstick (with understated, black-lined eyes).

It's fall. I needed to pull out the sweaters, plus I felt like wearing a skirt and showing off the legs. Sometimes a girl has to be a girl.

Okay, I need to ask:
Where do you get these adorable clothes?!

I bought the sweater a couple of years ago on sale at a boutique in SoHo. Ditto the shoes. I found the skirt at a thrift shop years ago--a black leather skirt is a staple and if you find an inexpensive one, buy it. If you find something you absolutely MUST have--something that calls out to you--you might as well go ahead and buy it, because you'll always regret it.

Also, keep your eye open at places like H&M. Never be afraid to mix price points. Dressing well is not at all a matter of spending a lot--it's about creativity (which in my case is usually about color).
