I Want to Believe!
I saw the movie last night. A friend of mine from work, Katie, and I went to see it together. On the way we ran into Rachel, looking radiant as always, and had a lil' chat. I didn't realize she works so close to me--in fact a lot of us work in Midtown. We should have a big ol' '50s three-martini lunch! Heh heh heh...
Anyway, saw the movie, loved it. I didn't LOVEITloveit but I enjoyed it, and it was awesome seeing my two favorite gorgeous G-people together again. I gotta say, though, a whole lotta ugly what with the pedophile priest and gory closeups and all. YUCK. And it was very cold and dark. But it was just so wonderful seeing them and where their relationship has gone. And I literally squealed and clapped in my seat when I saw Skinner. And when he held Mulder in his arms to warm him up!! *Sigh* ♥ ♥ ♥ (I'm no slash lover, I just thought it was sweet that his friend and former boss was holding him.)
I had fun picking things apart in my head, like where exactly do they live now? I'm thinking somewhere in Winchester or Purcellville or something--those places are real country but they're still in Virginia, and close to the WV border. I find it impossible to believe that M&S live in WV! I was also wondering about how breezily CC dealt with the ending of the series--"oh, the FBI says ally ally in come free, no hard feelings about the last 6 years." Ah well.
I love how they still call each other by their last names, even after having a kid and living basically as man and wife. And I loved the last scene between them! Love turns winter to spring...
