I bought a nice down coat a few weeks ago that really keeps me warm, but since it's white, it gets dirty easily. Usually I drop off my laundry but I wanted to wash this myself, so I thought I'd try the laundry center that's on the lobby level of my building. (The machines are pretty good, BTW--you have to use a kind of cash card to pay for them but you have much more of a range of cycles than in a regular laundromat--delicate, permanent press, gentle, brights, etc. The prices are a little less than you'd pay in a regular laundromat as well.)

I made many trips up and down the elevators in the course of this operation, and during one I rode up with a middle-aged-to-older black man. He seemed a little off but we made conversation. Then he looks at me, says something about how I'm a girl and pulls out a couple of hair products--I guess he sells them?? One of the products was relaxer--I was trying not to laugh but I said "thank you but I don't need any relaxer--my hair is pretty straight as it is. I'm trying to make my hair curly!"

Just the thought of someone trying to sell me relaxer--talk about coals to Newcastle!
