I always think of, in West Side Story, Riff saying "You wanna hang out with Italians, how the hell far is it to Mulberry Street?"

It ain't what it was, but it's still worth visiting. I would suggest going during the San Gennaro festival (http://www.sangennaro.org/), in late September. It's a lot of fun but it feels a bit...like an echo.
