This is sweet
From the New York Times LTTE page:
When your Nov. 2 editorial "Vote, No Matter What" identified motherhood and apple pie as part of the rationale, thoughts of other reasons to vote came to mind:
Because my ancestors died so that I could benefit from their struggles; to set an example for my two beautiful granddaughters and other generations yet unborn; to tell the world that although loving parents squeezed my hand and whispered "hush!" to my questions like "Why do we have to sit in the back of the bus? Why can't we eat in there?," I am no longer relegated to that position.
And to continue exercising my choice to work within systems to bring about changes.
Yes, vote ... because I must! O, freedom.
