You know it really says something about the power of the original Star Wars film that this joke could be so funny 32 years later. In fact, maybe it's because the film is soooo in our collective pop culture consciousness that that is what makes it so funny. Honestly, I don't think anyone would have gotten this joke in 1978...but then again, humor was all together different back then. (Witness the Paul Lynde Halloween Special for a reference on that...)
